Our students are talented individuals wanting to make acting, directing, producing and editing feature films, their full-time employment. Hero Film School's Feature Film Programs are best suited to talented individuals with strong desires to succeed in this extremely competitive but hugely rewarding industry. Our applicants would be best suited coming to us with prior learning or with practical experience in filmmaking or performing. However, this is not an essential requirement as our instructors would devote special time and energy to bring all students up to professional performance standards in their respective roles during the span of the course whilst  working with them in the feature film project.
 
At Hero Film School, experienced artists, craft persons and technicians shadow and mentor the next generation of filmmakers while they actually produce and shoot a professional feature film destined to theatrical release.  

It is true that talent abounds, however, real opportunities to enter the ranks of paid industry professionals are few and far between. Those with substantial film credits behind them get most of the available work and, together with that, the larger paychecks… At Hero Film School not only you will learn why that is the case, but most importantly to you, we will help you how to overcome these industry barriers and empower you to forge your way forward into paid employment. HFS brings talent and merit back into the equation.

Most of our Film Instructors have already taught at USC, UCLA, AFI, Loyola Marymount, and all other major US Film Schools and Universities. Others, especially European filmmakers, are happy to join the ranks of Hero Film School to continue the tradition in which they were trained: on the set, hands on, one generation transcending the work of its predecessor.

If you do not yet have film and/or acting education and experience, HFS offers a range of short but intensive courses to help you discover your true talents: work in a TV Pilot, make a music video, a TV commercial or a short film suitable for national or international festival submission. Alternatively you may be interested to work in a full feature film as stated earlier - all under expert professional guidance and see for yourself if a professional film career is for you.

If you are a film graduate Hero Film School is the perfect complement to your film studies and wishes to be seen by the institutions that trained you as the “bridge” between the training they gave you and your entry into the industry... that's why some industry experts have termed HFS the "finishing" school.

Hero Film School is conveniently located in the heart of Hollywood. We have chosen the 4th Floor of the Historic CBS Studio building on 6121 Sunset Blvd, Hollywood, CA as our home. The premises contain excellent sound stages, sets and workshop areas, ample creative areas, editing and post-production facilities.
